About the Role
The Driver provides safe transportation to individuals receiving services to and from various programs at The Arc Wayne. This role is crucial for ensuring individuals can access essential services and participate fully in society.
Responsibilities
- Provides safe transportation to individuals receiving services to and from various programs at The Arc Wayne.
- Completes daily vehicle inspection checklist.
- Records accurate mileage and codes as they pertain to the use of Agency vehicles.
- Provides proper care and maintenance of assigned vehicle.
- Informs the Transportation Coordinator of needed vehicle repairs, preventative maintenance, state inspection, etc.
- Monitors behaviors of persons receiving services during transport and communicates to the Transportation Coordinator any issues that require follow-up or management intervention.
- Abides by the rules and regulations of the New York State Department of Transportation and The Arc Wayne.
- Immediately reports to the Transportation Coordinator any incident(s) that occur on the vehicle.
- Meets all established licensing requirements.
- Completes certification/recertification process as stated in the Agency Transportation and Driver Safety Policy.
- Transports goods to and from designated locations(s) as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass Article 19-A (NYS-DMV) physical.
- Must possess a valid NYS Driver's License that meets Agency Driver standards.
