About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Cook for an 85-resident assisted living community in Hell’s Kitchen. This is a hands-on position in a small kitchen. The Lead Cook prepares and serves lunch and dinner, supports special events and catering, and builds positive relationships with residents.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve lunch and dinner according to daily menus and standardized recipes.
- Help plan and execute meals for special events, catering, and resident functions.
- Assist with food ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory management.
- Maintain food quality, portion consistency, sanitation, and food safety standards.
- Work closely with the kitchen and dining team to keep service running smoothly.
- Adapt to changing needs in a small kitchen and interact warmly and professionally with residents.
Requirements
- Professional cooking experience required.
- Senior living experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow recipes, menus, food safety instructions, and resident requests.
- Strong organization, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to pitch in wherever needed and take pride in resident service.
