About the Role

The Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights Analyst helps transform market, competitor, broker network, member, and business intelligence into clear narratives that enable management decision-making. This role will leverage existing analysis, integrate new intelligence sources, and develop AI-powered dashboards, reports, and capabilities to facilitate the discovery, understanding, and actionability of insights. The position focuses less on standalone reporting and more on connecting available intelligence, highlighting what is relevant, and supporting Personal Insurance leadership in understanding changes, their root causes, and subsequent actions. The incumbent proactively gathers intelligence across the organization and from the external market. They then leverage a strong understanding of P&C insurance, sound analytical judgment, and AI-powered tools to transform fragmented information into an integrated and actionable market narrative.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize existing market intelligence, analysis, and business reports into clear themes, implications, and recommended prioritization areas for management.
  • Proactively gather, aggregate, and analyze intelligence from internal and external sources, including regulatory filings, competitor disclosures, insurer financial results, industry research, broker feedback, and licensed market or consumer datasets.
  • Identify and evaluate new intelligence sources that can enhance understanding of market conditions, competitor activities, broker behavior, member needs, or emerging opportunities.
  • Build reproducible dashboards, report views, and intelligence tools that facilitate intelligence access, comparison, and interpretation over time.
  • Explore and apply AI-powered capabilities to assist in summarizing intelligence, identifying trends, highlighting emerging signals, and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Translate analysis into management-ready narratives that explain the state of affairs, its significance, and potential actions.
  • Use real-world examples and evidence to make findings tangible, demonstrating how a competitor decision, broker trend, regulatory change, or member signal could create risk, opportunity, or a management action.
  • Proactively build relationships with cross-functional teams to understand ongoing work, avoid duplication, connect related findings, and ensure intelligence reflects the operational context.
  • Support strategy, planning, and decision-making by synthesizing quantitative analysis, qualitative data, and business judgment into concise, actionable recommendations.
  • Identify significant regional and provincial differences in competitor behavior, regulation, distribution, consumer trends, and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in business, economics, finance, marketing, data analytics, market research, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in market intelligence, analytics, strategy, research, reporting, or business insights.
  • Strong ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and translate data into clear business implications.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect quantitative data, qualitative findings, and external market signals into a cohesive narrative that clearly explains the state of affairs, its significance, and potential actions.
  • Comfort with dashboards, reporting tools, data visualization, and emerging AI approaches for generating insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate analysis into concise, management-ready narratives and recommendations.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work with multiple teams to gather input, validate ideas, and foster buy-in.
  • Strong background in personal insurance, including broker distribution.
