About the Role
The Housekeeping Associate is responsible for cleaning assigned areas as requested and assigned, supporting the organization's mission to offer seniors an elevated way of life where comfort, connection, and joy thrive.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and maintains assigned areas including public areas and resident rooms.
- Cleans restrooms, including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories, and fixtures in apartments and common areas.
- Vacuums carpeted areas and mops tile floors.
- Spot cleans walls and windows.
- Dusts furniture and empties trashcans.
- Cleans baseboards, pictures, lights, and HVAC vents.
- Assists with activity room set-ups, which could require movement of furniture.
- Attends training courses at community and maintains up to date monthly, quarterly, annual training through designated Learning Management System (LMS).
- Attend all required all staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned that relate to the success of the community and the care, comfort, and happiness of residents.
Requirements
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of housekeeping.
- Ability to use all required equipment.
- Must have excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills, and time management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and vendors.
- Must work well within a team as well as independently.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must have a strong understanding of the English language sufficient to read and write.
- Must be able to continuously walk and stand.
- Must be able to perform work both inside and outside.
- Able to sit infrequently.
- Constantly lift/carry/push 0-10 pounds.
- Frequently lift/carry/push 11-50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift/carry/push 51-100 pounds.
- Must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available.
- Must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips, and spine on a frequent basis; may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.
- Must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Must be able to reach on a frequent basis.
- May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less.
- May reach below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.
