About the Role

The Smile Lodge Pediatric Dentistry is seeking reliable, hard-working, and motivated individuals to join their Dental Assisting team. This role offers comprehensive on-the-job training, making it ideal for those who enjoy working with children and value teamwork in a patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and families warmly and escort them to the clinical area.
Maintain positive patient engagement, ensuring comfort and care.
Identify and communicate patient concerns to the dentist or hygienist.
Obtain and document consent for treatments like fluoride, radiographs, nitrous oxide, and sedation.
Take and document diagnostic radiographs as directed.
Prepare instruments, materials, and equipment for procedures.
Provide chairside support during procedures.
Anticipate the needs of the dentist or hygienist for efficient appointments.
Reinforce caregiver understanding of treatment benefits and aftercare.
Review treatment recommendations with legal guardians clearly and supportively.
Accurately document clinical findings and treatments.
Indicate next-appointment needs using appropriate scheduling descriptions.
Support efficient patient flow and manage priorities to keep appointments on schedule.
Communicate proactively with teammates to ensure seamless care coordination.
Engage patients during downtime to provide an exceptional experience.
Escort patients and their parties to checkout.
Follow OSHA standards with consistent PPE use and proper workstation sanitation.
Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and clinically ready workstation.
Maintain current CPR/BLS certification.
Remain open to coaching and feedback.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
No prior dental experience required.
Must be available for a full-time, four-day work week.
