  • Research advertising regulations and review/advise on copy and scripts for compliance with regulations such as CAP/BCAP, HFSS, and DMCCA.
  • Review industry production agreements, including PIBS and covid tripartite addendums.
  • Support the RFI pitch process and conduct conflict checks.
  • Research and advise on contentious and non-contentious intellectual property issues, including potential issues surrounding advertisements before publication and the company's brand portfolio.
  • Manage relationships and instructions with external counsel, advisors, and vendors.
  • Deliver training and updates to the legal team and wider business.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to junior team members.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating precedent agreements and policies.
  • Review, amend, and negotiate synchronisation, talent, influencer agreements, and celebrity partnerships.
  • Provide general legal support to the agency across all global offices.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE (candidates with less PQE demonstrating requisite experience will be considered).
  • Experience in advertising, commercial, and IP law gained in private practice, an agency, or an in-house team supporting a marketing department.
  • Essential advertising/media background.
  • Embrace new technology, particularly AI and legal tech.
  • Proven ability to improve processes through technology or training.
  • Solid understanding of commercial contracts and ability to negotiate independently.
  • Good understanding of copyright and trademark infringement.
