About the Role
As a City Launcher, you will open a new Brodie market in your neighborhood. Your responsibilities include recruiting founding captains, sourcing and validating venues, filling gyms, and running the launch season. You will be the local face of Brodie, building genuine relationships with players and community members. This role prioritizes community building, followed by sales and growth marketing. You will prove the market model, grow it season over season, and potentially expand your territory. You will collaborate with leadership across various departments to build a repeatable launch playbook.
Responsibilities
- Recruit a minimum of 24 founding captains per league.
- Bring Brodie into gyms and courts where you are already a familiar face.
- Build and maintain relationships with key community influencers.
- Drive the referral program to leverage captains and players for recruitment.
- Be visible in your neighborhood weekly as part of your normal life.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and secure suitable gym venues.
- Execute the sales sequence: soft close the venue, prove demand, then sign.
- Own and track sales numbers in CRM, including teams signed, fill rate, and revenue.
- Escalate issues early when behind on targets.
- Own the local demand generation from scratch.
- Manage the location's social media page to build anticipation and a waitlist.
- Host open runs and events to convert interest into signed teams.
- Leverage local distribution channels for marketing and partnerships.
- Attend game nights to build genuine relationships with participants.
- Monitor league health, including retention, team count, and feedback.
- Partner with Operations on game-night execution while owning growth and revenue.
- Contribute to building the repeatable launch playbook for future cities.
- Earn the right to expand into adjacent cities as your territory grows.
Requirements
- Live in or directly beside the neighborhood where the market is launching.
- Possess an existing network within the local basketball community.
- Be an active participant in the basketball community, playing in leagues or attending gyms weekly.
- Have standing in your community where your recommendations lead to action.
- Be able to name your first ten captains and have the credibility to contact them.
- Be comfortable building demand from zero with limited budget.
- Possess the ability to close deals with facility owners and captains.
- Be comfortable owning a number, using a CRM, and adopting new tools.
- Have availability on evenings and weekends for game nights.
- Willingness to travel across your territory as it expands.
