About the Role

Serves as a liaison between business areas and IT, understanding business goals and objectives. Collaborates with business partners to resolve issues and suggest solutions. Translates business requirements into functional and technical requirements, and collaborates on conceptual solution designs. Anticipates and defines business requirements for new or enhanced products, services, or processes. Consults on IT strategy, workflow, and product development. Plays a key role throughout the application lifecycle for development projects.

Responsibilities

Leads and facilitates meetings and communications between IT and assigned business areas.
Informs team members on ongoing discussions with the business.
Leads or oversees workflow analysis to support requirements identification.
Evaluates business processes, anticipates requirements, uncovers areas for improvement, and facilitates solution development and implementation.
Captures, analyzes, and documents business and user requirements and user stories.
Coaches and mentors others in requirements gathering and documentation.
Acts as a thought leader to shape and influence IT roadmaps for assigned business areas.
Identifies opportunities to improve current business and IT processes and champions change.
Ensures solutions meet business needs and requirements.
Monitors industry activities and leads learning opportunities for assigned business areas.
Identifies potential solutions and new findings, including best practices, in collaboration with other IT team members.
Conducts reviews of business processes and leads associates in developing functional optimization strategies.
Ensures incorporation of optimization strategies into strategic roadmaps.
Participates and/or leads the development of user documentation, training materials, and job aids.
Facilitates and leads peers in Application Development and Support activities for development requests.
Coordinates activities between internal and external development groups and the business.
Accountable for Capital Project Business cases and estimate creation.
Leads the presentation of business cases to the PMO and Finance.
Assesses proposed enhancement requests for value and completeness with the business.
Actively leads and contributes value to Business Priority Council (BPC) meetings.
Participates in procurement events (RFP/RFI) and supports the development of statements of work.

Requirements

Requires business and general system knowledge, incorporating knowledge from related disciplines to solve complex business/IT problems.
Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
Exposure to multiple technologies and application development methodologies.
Has participated in a large project.
Has led the business analysis on a large-scale complex project.
Knowledge of one or more business domains and how they relate to form solutions.
Conducts business process analysis and creates current/future state process models.
Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM), specifically demand management best practices and controls.
Understanding and knowledge of IT standards and controls.
Ability to work on teams and collaborate effectively with business and technical roles.
Ability to influence stakeholders at different management levels.
Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and business process optimization skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent persuasion skills.
Excellent independent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to manage larger efforts.
Competency in Microsoft applications including O365, Teams, One Drive, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge of financial and cost models, and budgeting.
Ability to balance long-term and short-term implications of solution decisions.
Ability to manage competing priorities and a track record of following through on commitments.
Ability to lead small high-performing teams to deliver successful outcomes.
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment.
Work involves using a computer and telephone, as well as personal communication.
Work includes researching, analyzing, writing, and public speaking.
Ability to perform multiple simultaneous activities, meet competing deadlines, and work under pressure.
Occasional overtime may be needed.
