About the Role
In this hands-on role, you'll prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents, complete repairs, and ensure every home meets AMLI's high standards before move-in. Your skills will help create an exceptional living experience by handling tasks from painting and drywall to plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare apartments for move-in by inspecting vacant homes, completing make-ready checklists, and performing necessary repairs before new residents arrive.
- Handle painting and drywall repairs, including patching holes, repairing walls, completing touch-up painting, and addressing cosmetic issues.
- Complete general repairs such as repairing or replacing faucets, plumbing fixtures, lights, ceiling fans, blinds, shelving, mirrors, baseboards, and other apartment components.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues by assisting with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
- Maintain doors and hardware by repairing locks, hinges, latches, and screens, and preparing keys and changing locks as needed.
- Ensure quality by completing final apartment inspections to ensure homes meet AMLI's move-in standards.
- Support the team with general property upkeep, preventive maintenance, and maintaining community amenities.
- Provide on-call support by participating in an evening and weekend emergency maintenance rotation.
Requirements
- Experience with apartment turns, painting, drywall, basic plumbing, electrical work, or general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete a variety of apartment repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Ability to prioritize multiple apartment turns and meet move-in deadlines.
- Dependable, team-oriented attitude and good communication skills.
- Availability for evening and weekend on-call rotations.
- Reliable transportation for on-call responsibilities.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Experience in apartment maintenance, residential remodeling, hotel maintenance, or general building repairs is welcome.
