About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced, onshore Staff QA Manager to lead QA operations and drive process improvements in a complex enterprise environment. This role focuses on leading Data Warehouse QA initiatives, addressing data quality issues, and remediating gaps across prioritized datasets. You will transition the team from a best-effort approach to a sustainable execution model, partnering with technical leads and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of the QA function, bringing operational structure, sustainable capacity planning, and clear delivery visibility to the team.
- Lead critical Data Warehouse QA efforts, specifically addressing and remediating data quality issues across four prioritized datasets.
- Drive cross-team alignment by establishing consistent communication channels and prioritization frameworks with technical leads, Data Warehouse teams, and business stakeholders.
- Define and implement comprehensive QA strategies and best practices to resolve operational bottlenecks and transition away from unsustainable, best-effort approaches.
- Lead, mentor, and allocate resources effectively within the onshore QA team to balance ongoing software development with urgent quality remediation.
- Act as the primary QA authority, proactively identifying risks, resolving cross-functional roadblocks, and ensuring data integrity across enterprise systems.
Requirements
- Must be physically located and authorized to work onshore within the United States.
- 8+ years of professional QA experience, with a proven track record as a hands-on QA Manager or QA Leader taking ownership of enterprise QA operations.
- Extensive experience in Data Warehouse testing, ETL validation, and enterprise data quality remediation.
- Demonstrated experience improving QA processes, defining capacity management strategies, and increasing project delivery visibility.
- Proven ability to navigate complex, cross-functional environments, managing competing priorities and driving stakeholder alignment.
Skills
- QA Leadership & Operations: Advanced capacity planning, resource allocation, QA process optimization, and delivery metrics tracking.
- Data Warehouse & Data Quality: Deep expertise in testing Data Warehouses, validating complex data transformations, and ensuring enterprise-grade data integrity.
- Databases & SQL: Advanced SQL querying for complex source-to-target data reconciliation, gap analysis, and backend validation.
- Test Strategy & Execution: Designing robust test strategies that encompass data pipelines, backend architecture, and frontend reporting.
- Experience testing and validating modern cloud data platforms and architectures (e.g., Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Python, Pytest) to eventually transition manual QA processes into automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience validating business intelligence platforms and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal) with exceptional executive communication skills.
- Outstanding stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to build consensus and drive alignment across disparate teams.
- High degree of technical ownership, autonomy, and a strategic problem-solving mindset.
- Strong resilience and adaptability to lead a team through operational challenges and shifting business priorities.
