About the Role
The AP Retail Analyst is responsible for accurately processing and reviewing all invoices, purchase orders, and inventory received billings, ensuring timely vendor payments according to terms. This role requires strong experience in invoice data processing, verification, and managing Retail A/R monthly statements.
Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and input invoices.
- Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, receiving slips, and invoices.
- Process and prepare payments for all vendors.
- Assist in ensuring the accuracy of the monthly close of Accounts Payable.
- Collaborate with the retail team and third-party carriers to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform vendor statement reconciliations.
- Analyze and investigate variances in expense accounts, budget amounts, and historical costs.
- Liaise with finance, retail, and other departments to provide detailed expense analysis.
- Verify correct account distribution, handle discrepancies, and adjustments.
- Collaborate with team leaders to improve accounts payable processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required by the AP Senior Director.
Requirements
- Experience performing detailed reconciliation of vendor statements.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a high-volume accounts’ payable role.
- Retail background.
- Experience with analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Ability to navigate and review inventory receiving records.
- Self-motivated, proactive, critical thinker with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Great attention to detail and highly organized.
- Career-minded and goal-oriented person who can see challenges as an opportunity for future advancements.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as in a team environment.
- Must have a legal right to work in the United States.
Skills
- Strong analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (pivot and VLOOKUP, a plus)
