About the Role
Join our Identity Verification team as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to transform our KYC flow into a versatile service and enhance customer onboarding. You will focus 60% on backend development with Ruby and 10% on Go, and the remaining time on web development.
Responsibilities
- Make identity verification provider-agnostic by replacing the current tightly coupled solution with a service usable by any team at Qonto.
- Improve KYC conversion rates by working across backend and web on the path from KYC started to KYC submission.
- Own the web side of provider integrations, including loading provider SDKs, handling errors, and ensuring web part scalability.
- Build infrastructure behind KYC, the initial step for all customers.
- Handle provider failures and retries, improve observability, and operate integrations safely in production.
- Design a layer to make verification providers interchangeable and decouple the current tightly coupled solution.
- Build reliable APIs for other Qonto teams, such as Security for password reset checks.
Requirements
- Experience building and running backend services in production.
- Shipped production web code with React and can handle maintenance and scaling.
- Experience integrating external providers or SDKs.
- Ability to design systems to avoid vendor lock-in.
- Willingness to own changes across backend and web, partnering with staff web engineers on architecture and complex integrations.
- Ruby experience is a plus, but not a requirement; willingness to learn is sufficient.
