About the Role
This role involves providing patient care in a clinic setting, focusing on cardiology and stress testing procedures. The position offers a stable schedule with no weekends, holidays, or on-call duties.
Responsibilities
- Performs Treadmill, ETTs and Nuclear Stress Testing.
- Conducts initial patient interview and makes preliminary assessment of test data.
- Prepares study for physician interpretation.
- Works closely with physicians, cardiac rehab/cardiology supervisor to assure accurate and timely results.
- Monitors patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Provides patient and family education.
- Assists with monitoring for special procedures (e.g., stress-echo studies, tilt table studies).
- Recognizes emergency situations and responds according to policy/protocol.
- Identifies and interprets arrythmias.
- Performs conscious sedation as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-years patient care with recent arrythmia recognition/cardiology experience.
- Experience with moderate sedation, treadmill and nuclear stress testing.
- Preferred: ICU or Cardiology Nursing.
- Preferred: Moderate sedation competency.
- Preferred: Experience with Meditech.
