About the Role

The Digital Career Institute (DCI) is a leading provider of digital further education in Germany, helping individuals transition into new careers by connecting education, the job market, and companies.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for Finance and Controlling departments.
Conducting annual financial statement and balance sheet analyses, deriving actionable recommendations.
Managing and optimizing internal accounting systems (DATEV, Candis, etc.).
Structuring and optimizing the incoming invoice workflow and processing accounts receivable and payable.
Defining and optimizing internal processes, especially travel expense accounting and purchasing.
Managing payment transactions and maintaining banking relationships.
Creating detailed financial analyses and developing concrete measures for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and increased transparency.
Supporting management in financial modeling and strategic business plan development.
Continuously developing and optimizing controlling processes.
Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and creating corresponding reports.
Developing financial models and business plans for new business areas in close collaboration with management.

Requirements

Completed degree in Business Administration (BWL) with a focus on Controlling, Finance, or Accounting.
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Finance and Accounting, ideally in a fast-growing startup environment.
Structured, meticulous, and goal-oriented work style with strong planning and organizational skills.
Experience in establishing and structuring cost centers and cost objects.
Sound financial knowledge and experience in creating business cases, business plans, and financial models.
High degree of reliability, precision, and sense of responsibility.
Fluent German and English language skills.
Initial leadership experience as a team lead is advantageous.
Experience with educational providers (AZAV), knowledge of the educational sector, and/or practical experience with (IT) training providers is a plus.
