About the Role
EQ Retirement Solutions is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to design, develop, and maintain reporting, business intelligence, and analytical solutions. This role supports operational performance, client needs, and business decision-making by providing meaningful data insights and supporting planning and forecasting capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and Excel.
- Create clear and insightful reporting outputs for operational, management, and client stakeholders.
- Support the development and maintenance of data models, semantic models, and reporting datasets.
- Gather, analyze, and document reporting and business intelligence requirements from stakeholders.
- Develop and support data pipelines and ETL processes for reliable data availability.
- Produce analysis and analytical models for operational performance, demand forecasting, workload analysis, and capacity planning.
- Validate and reconcile data sources, identifying and resolving data quality issues.
- Translate complex data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
- Contribute to the automation, simplification, and standardization of reporting and planning processes.
- Maintain appropriate testing, governance, and documentation standards for reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with operational, planning, client-facing, and technical teams.
- Provide stakeholder support and guidance on reporting and analytical tools.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend enhancements to capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL, data extraction, and data validation techniques.
- Experience with Power Query, data modeling, and reporting best practices.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and investigate anomalies.
- Strong analytical skills to support planning, forecasting, and business decision-making.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical, maintainable reporting and BI solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience presenting analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, data warehouses, or lakehouse environments (desirable).
- Knowledge of DAX, ETL processes, and reporting automation (desirable).
- Experience using Python, APIs, Power Automate, or SharePoint-based data sources (desirable).
- Experience within financial services, pensions, or another regulated environment (desirable).
- Experience developing demand forecasting, workload planning, or capacity modeling solutions (desirable).
- Understanding of operational performance metrics, productivity measures, and resource planning concepts (desirable).
- Experience supporting operational leaders with scenario modeling and business planning decisions (desirable).
