About the Role
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Community Support Officer (Resettlement) to support refugee families arriving through various government schemes. This role involves end-to-end case management, providing tailored support, and connecting families with essential services to aid their successful integration into the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end case management and tailored support to households throughout their resettlement journey.
- Act as a key point of contact, working closely with council services, housing providers, government agencies, health services, education providers, and voluntary sector organisations.
- Develop and deliver personalized support plans.
- Welcome families on arrival and help them access housing, healthcare, and education.
- Support employment opportunities and long-term independence.
- Manage complex cases and coordinate multi-agency interventions.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of the Council’s resettlement programmes.
Requirements
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or families within a customer-focused environment.
- Proven experience of end-to-end case management and delivering tailored support plans.
- Good knowledge of housing, welfare benefits, immigration, or resettlement-related services.
- Experience working effectively with multi-agency partners, including statutory, voluntary, and community organisations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage complex and sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and maintain accurate records.
- A proactive and resilient approach, with a strong commitment to helping individuals achieve independence and successful integration into the community.
