About the Role
This field-based General Maintenance Technician role supports the maintenance function of assigned Dollar General stores, responding to maintenance tickets, performing preventative assessments, and educating store leaders on maintenance best practices to ensure equipment longevity. The role utilizes a CMMS system for documentation and communication with various levels of leadership and external partners, advancing customer service and brand growth through maintenance standards.
Responsibilities
- Respond immediately to resolve maintenance tickets in assigned Dollar General locations.
- Perform proactive assessment of preventative maintenance.
- Travel to sites where maintenance concerns have been reported by store leadership.
- Troubleshoot, collect, and verify asset information for on-site service projects.
- Guide leadership on operational solutions, preventative maintenance, and support entry-level repairs.
- Support entry-level maintenance, including light exterior grounds support and safety equipment assessment.
- Document and resolve tickets within a designated timeframe.
- Perform training on the root cause of issues when necessary.
- Perform checklist assessments for preventative maintenance or small maintenance activities.
- Educate store leadership on operational processes.
- Occasional after-hours work may be required.
Requirements
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with ability to support entry level repairs.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Unbridled commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work with multiple priorities.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs+.
