About the Role

As Senior Spokesperson, Technology & Innovation, you will serve as Siemens’ senior global spokesperson and media relations expert for industrial technologies, engineering innovation, and foundational technology development. Your primary goal is to position Siemens externally as a leading global technology company that merges the physical and digital worlds, demonstrating how industrial technology progresses from foundational development to real-world products, systems, and applications. A significant aspect of this role involves executive-linked technology positioning, working directly with Siemens Managing Board members and senior technology executives to shape Siemens’ industrial technology and innovation narrative through compelling stories, interviews, and thought leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Make Siemens’ broader technology leadership tangible for external audiences, translating complex engineering and innovation into impactful stories.
  • Develop and drive global media narratives connecting Siemens’ key industrial technologies with strategic themes like digital engineering and the convergence of real and digital worlds.
  • Connect foundational R&D and pre-development activities with applied industrial technologies, illustrating how reusable technologies become products and solutions.
  • Utilize tangible proof points such as products, prototypes, partnerships, and applications to substantiate Siemens’ technology story.
  • Support senior leaders in positioning Siemens’ technology and innovation story through strategic executive communications.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with leading international technology, business, industrial, and innovation journalists.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for feature stories, interviews, and high-impact media moments.
  • Create alignment across global Media Relations, Foundational Technologies, Siemens Technology, businesses, regions, executive communications, product teams, Strategy, Marketing, customers, and partners.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in communications, business administration, political science, economics, or a related field.
  • Many years of senior professional experience in Media Relations, corporate communications, executive communications, or journalism, ideally in an international technology, industrial, business, or financial context.
  • Strong track record in international media positioning, including work with leading global technology, business, financial, or policy outlets.
  • Proven ability to support senior executives in translating strategic technology priorities into credible media narratives and high-visibility positioning opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of industrial technology, engineering, software, and manufacturing across the technology lifecycle.
  • Excellent editorial judgment and writing skills, with the ability to turn technical substance into clear, differentiated, and newsworthy stories for international media.
  • Strong existing network among relevant technology, business, financial, and policy journalists, particularly in international and U.S. media ecosystems.
  • Confidence in handling sensitive, fast-moving, and high-visibility topics with accuracy, discretion, and a clear view of reputation impact.
  • Strong ability to build trust across senior stakeholders, expert communities, and global communications teams while staying focused on external impact.
  • Intellectually curious and comfortable engaging deeply with engineers, technologists, and product experts.
  • Highly collaborative, skilled at navigating complex global stakeholder environments and comfortable influencing across cultures and seniority levels.
  • Able to move easily between a laboratory, a factory floor, a Board briefing, and a conversation with a top-tier journalist.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential.
  • German is highly desirable; additional languages are an advantage.
