About the Role
This role involves creating and editing digital content, primarily video and social media, for live cultural events. It's an opportunity to combine digital skills with a passion for arts, culture, and live entertainment, working within an established international live spoken word events and entertainment business.
Responsibilities
- Film original, mobile-first content at live events and with colleagues and contributors for social media and marketing campaigns.
- Transform footage into polished short-form videos with captions and graphics for digital platforms.
- Manage social media channels, including scheduling, publishing, monitoring engagement, and responding to inquiries.
- Write engaging social media copy, captions, scripts, and website content.
- Prepare digital assets for organic and paid campaigns, including Meta advertising and YouTube.
- Collaborate with marketing and editorial teams to develop creative concepts and ensure content quality and timeliness.
Requirements
- Experience creating digital content and managing or supporting social media channels.
- Hands-on experience filming and editing engaging short-form video content for social media.
- Ability to produce original content independently using mobile equipment.
- Good understanding of social media platforms, video formats, captioning, accessibility, and digital content best practices.
- Strong copywriting skills with adaptability for different audiences.
- Creative eye, good editorial judgment, and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively.
- Willingness to attend and film at events and potentially appear on camera.
- Genuine interest in arts, culture, literature, and live entertainment.
- Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar professional video editing software (desirable).
- Previous experience creating content within live events, publishing, entertainment, arts, or other editorial environments (desirable).
- Experience editing multi-camera footage from live events (desirable).
- Basic design skills using Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools (desirable).
- Some knowledge of motion graphics or animation software, such as After Effects or Blender (desirable).
- Experience supporting online community management and audience engagement (desirable).
