About the Role
As an Associate Director, you'll be trusted to deliver excellent work for your clients, share your expertise, and help maintain the high standards of the team. You will manage complex private family law matters, provide expert advice, and contribute to the development and quality of legal work across the wider team. This role offers the opportunity to develop leadership impact while remaining close to client work.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex private family law matters with confidence, sound judgement and empathy
- Provide expert, practical advice and deliver an excellent client experience
- Manage cases, risks and client expectations effectively
- Support quality through post-checks, file reviews and guidance on complex matters
- Provide constructive feedback, coaching and informal supervision to colleagues
- Mentor colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping others build confidence and capability
Requirements
- 10+ years PQE with strong private family law experience
- Confidence to manage complex matters
- Skilled in negotiation, advocacy and complex case strategy
- Warm, clear and reassuring communication style
- Sound professional judgement
- Pragmatic, forward-thinking and solutions-focused
- Comfortable sharing expertise, providing constructive feedback and supporting others
- Resilient, organised and able to maintain high standards under pressure
- Confident with technology, compliance and working in a paperless environment
- Belief that great leadership involves creating trust, supporting others and helping people do their best work
