About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to work on high-stakes, complex litigation for some of the world's most innovative companies, while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote, reduced-hours, non-partnership position. You'll collaborate with nationally recognized trial attorneys, take ownership of meaningful litigation matters, and work directly with clients across cutting-edge industries.
Responsibilities
- Defend manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and retailers in complex product liability and toxic tort litigation.
- Manage multiple phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Draft compelling pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and client communications.
- Support national and global litigation teams handling multidistrict litigation (MDL) and coordinated state court proceedings.
- Manage document discovery, including collection, review, and production.
- Evaluate technical and scientific evidence, including causation and failure analysis.
- Work directly with partners, associates, and clients to develop effective litigation strategies.
- Independently manage case responsibilities while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
- 6+ years of substantive litigation experience in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
- Active bar admission in good standing in the candidate's state of residence and in California or Washington, or eligibility to waive into the applicable jurisdiction.
- Significant experience defending manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors in product liability and toxic tort matters.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex litigation matters with minimal supervision.
- Strong legal research, writing, briefing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience managing written discovery, document collection, review, and production.
- Familiarity with scientific, technical, causation, and failure-analysis issues.
- Experience with MDLs and/or coordinated state court litigation.
- Excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Previous experience with a large law firm (Highly Preferred).
- Experience representing clients in highly regulated or technology-driven industries (Highly Preferred).
- Demonstrated success handling sophisticated, high-stakes litigation (Highly Preferred).
- Candidates residing outside the Western United States must be willing to work West Coast business hours.
