Responsibilities
- Assist with resident personal care.
- Assist with dining room and feed residents.
- Assisting with daily one-on-one or small group activities with the residents.
- Pass waters and all needed supplies to residents such as briefs, underpants, wipes, soap, denture cups, etc.
- Transport residents to and from medical appointments.
- Answer call lights and assists residents as needed.
- Provide daily meal assistance passing of trays.
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility information.
- Comply with the vision, objective, procedures, and policies of Bethany Village.
- Take approved residents out for cigarette.
- Daily resident transportation to and from dining room and activities.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school education or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, speak and write English is also required for this position.
- On-site training will be provided.
- Previous long-term care experience helpful.
- Prior experience working with the dementia resident preferred.
- Genuine interest in the geriatric field is required.
- Must be able to communicate with co-workers, residents, and the families of the residents.
- Dependable, prompt, tactful, patient, a desire to work with geriatric residents.
- Resident-focused at all times, while acting as a pleasant professional is essential.
- Task-centeredness, punctuality, and a pleasant demeanor are beneficial to successful performance in this position.
