About the Role

The Pioneer is expanding its live event formats, including stage shows, live podcasts, and tours across Germany. We are seeking an individual to not only bring these live events to the stage but also to fill venues and secure partners for them.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage live formats and tours from conception to post-production, both on our media ships and in cities across Germany.
  • Handle routes, dates, locations, and budgets, coordinating all service providers and internal interfaces.
  • Develop run sheets and director's plans for live podcasts, interviews, and panel talks.
  • Coordinate technology, sound, lighting, video, and stage construction, maintaining oversight even during spontaneous changes.
  • Collaborate with hosts and editorial staff to determine relevant topics and guests, crafting memorable evening events.
  • Develop marketing campaigns with the marketing team to promote events and fill venues, utilizing owned channels (Morning Briefing, podcasts, newsletters, social media) and media cooperations.
  • Acquire sponsors and cooperation partners that align with our formats, developing value-adding partnership concepts without compromising journalistic independence.
  • Manage partners from initial contact through to on-stage implementation and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor costs, revenues, utilization, and ticket sales, reporting regularly and deriving concrete measures.
  • Contribute own ideas for new formats, target groups, and revenue streams, actively developing our live formats.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in live entertainment, event, or tour management, including own shows, tours, or stage productions.
  • Directing experience and technical understanding of sound, lighting, video, and stage.
  • Experience in event marketing and ticket sales, ideally with common ticketing systems.
  • Ideally, experience in sponsoring, partner management, or B2B sales, with an understanding of suitable partners for an independent, advertising-free brand.
  • Confident budget and KPI management – entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take responsibility.
  • Organizational talent that maintains an overview even amidst the backstage hustle: independent and structured work style, with a hands-on approach when needed.
  • Compelling presence to inspire people for our formats and generate curiosity about politics, business, and good journalism.
  • Willingness to travel for business – evening and weekend work is part of the live business.
