About the Role
This Production Lead role, based in London, offers an experienced live events professional the opportunity to take ownership of an exciting and growing USA cultural events programme, working with leading voices in culture, entertainment and ideas.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of live events and multi-city tours, overseeing technical specifications, production schedules, show-day operations, artist hospitality and on-site teams.
- Source and assess venues across the USA, to ensure each venue meets the technical, capacity and audience requirements of the event.
- Recruit, brief and oversee local teams, while managing relevant insurance, compliance and artist travel requirements.
- Oversee the preparation of talent contracts, event briefs, travel itineraries and ticketing arrangements, working closely with the operations coordinator.
- Create, monitor and reconcile event budgets, managing supplier costs and ensuring financial accountability throughout the production process.
Requirements
- Solid experience in live event production, ideally within literary, cultural, entertainment or spoken-word events, including experience working in a structured, full-time, in-house production environment.
- Proven experience managing multi-date tours and large-scale, one-off events, with the ability to oversee several productions simultaneously.
- Strong technical understanding of live production, including audio, lighting, staging and venue specifications.
- Experience negotiating with venues and suppliers.
- Experience building, managing and reconciling event budgets.
- Confidence to lead on operational decisions.
- Availability to work hours aligned with USA time zones, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Eligibility and willingness to travel to the USA for work.
- Established relationships with venues, production suppliers or freelance crews in the USA market (desirable).
- Familiarity with USA venue operations, including union requirements, insurance and compliance (desirable).
- Knowledge of international touring logistics, including production advancing, technical riders and coordinating remote production teams (desirable).
