About the Role
The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology in Berlin is seeking support for its network administrator in daily operations. This role involves contributing expertise to the design and operation of a high-performance, secure, and automated network infrastructure, including continuous development of the network landscape.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and operation of a high-performance, secure, and automated network infrastructure.
- Contribute expertise in switching, routing, virtualization, and automation.
- Support the continuous development of the network landscape.
Requirements
- Solid knowledge in campus switching, including VLAN, Spanning Tree, RADIUS, IEEE 802.1X, and MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB).
- Proficiency in routing with BGP and OSPF.
- Experience with network components from Arista and Extreme Networks.
- Practical experience with AWX, Puppet, and Ansible for automating operational and administrative processes.
- Knowledge in operating virtualized environments with Proxmox VE.
- Experience with Linux-based systems, particularly Oracle Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
