About the Role

Lead the design and delivery of AI/ML systems, acting as a key technical leader on a cross-functional team. Define AI architecture, lead model development and optimization, and solve challenging integration problems in a fast-paced environment where reliability, security, and scalability are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build agentic workflows, including reasoning loops, tool/function calling, and orchestration across single- and multi-agent architectures.
  • Build and maintain RAG pipelines, including chunking strategy, embeddings, vector search, re-ranking, and staleness/refresh handling.
  • Integrate with AWS Bedrock and Agent Core, including MCP-based tool design.
  • Write and iterate on production system prompts with structure, role framing, and output constraints.
  • Build evaluation and observability into every agent, including golden datasets, RAGAS-style metrics, LLM-as-judge, and tracing.
  • Design for LLM failure scenarios, incorporating retries, circuit breakers, and fallback models.
  • Build backend services in Python and Node.js, including serverless architectures.
  • Design DynamoDB single-table schemas for conversation state, agent memory, and session history.
  • Support event-driven orchestration for asynchronous agent operations.
  • Contribute to frontend integration points for agentic features.
  • Support deployment, monitoring, and production troubleshooting in cloud-native environments.
  • Bring informed technical judgment to architecture discussions, identifying trade-offs.
  • Partner with product, design, and delivery leads to scope and ship features.
  • Mentor other engineers and raise the bar on agentic engineering practices.
  • Own assigned features and releases end-to-end, including debugging and hardening.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful time shipping GenAI/LLM-powered systems in production.
  • Real, hands-on depth in agentic AI: reasoning loops, tool/function calling, multi-agent orchestration, and a considered point of view on design choices.
  • Practical RAG expertise: chunking strategies, embeddings, vector databases, cosine similarity search, and re-ranking.
  • Experience building evaluation and observability for LLM systems: golden datasets, LLM-as-judge, RAGAS or comparable metrics, and tracing tools.
  • Strong prompt engineering skills with the ability to write production system prompts with structure and constraints.
  • Hands-on experience with the AWS GenAI stack: Bedrock, Agent Core, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions.
  • Strong Python and Node.js skills, with experience building full-stack applications and RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of production reliability patterns for LLM-backed systems: retries/backoff, circuit breakers, fallback models.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud-native deployment.
  • Comfort owning ambiguous, integration-heavy problems and the ability to go a level deeper when challenged.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada and eligible to secure immediate U.S. non-immigrant work authorization for mandatory weekly on-site client delivery (3 days/week) in the United States.
