About the Role
Block by Block is seeking proactive, community-driven individuals to join our team as Special Projects Ambassadors. This role involves improving public spaces by making them friendlier, safer, and cleaner, offering a sense of accomplishment and variety in assignments.
Responsibilities
- Circulate through assigned work zones, completing manual and/or mechanical cleaning.
- Operate large hot water power units for deep cleaning of sidewalks, plazas, and street furniture.
- Operate large litter vacuums to sweep up litter, debris, or leaves.
- Maintain a visible and friendly presence, interacting positively with the public.
- Use a smartphone app to report daily activities and maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid TX Driver's License.
- Must have the physical capacity to stand and move continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language to create basic reports.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
