About the Role
Johnson Controls is a leading provider of equipment, controls, and services for HVAC, industrial refrigeration, and security systems. The UK&I Service team delivers innovative maintenance and service solutions across various industry segments. We are seeking a Project Manager to lead site-based activities across the UK, managing multi-disciplined engineering execution teams and subcontractors for HVAC engineered solutions. This role involves leading the execution phase of projects from sales handover to completion, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery of YORK products and external items to key commercial clients.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the overall profitable execution of projects.
- Manage project financials, legal requirements, technology, and people.
- Handle main contractor duties, including selection, ordering, warehousing, and logistics of materials.
- Ensure safe handover of projects, including Health and Safety reporting.
- Attend project meetings and analyze project progress.
- Audit engineer's contracts and standard compliance.
- Develop and build customer, consultant, and subcontractor relationships.
- Prepare and deliver clear performance expectations.
- Conduct performance evaluations on direct and subcontract labor.
- Build development plans with internal and external parties.
Requirements
- Project Management experience in the HVAC engineering industry, leading projects from start to finish.
- Experience managing budgets, resource planning, procurement, and logistics.
- Experience managing Health and Safety.
- Solid understanding of HVAC/Refrigeration systems in industrial and commercial environments.
- Contract Management experience.
- Supervisory skills.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current CDM Regulations.
- Ability to read and understand P&ID drawings and schematics.
- Ability to manage and influence internal & external partners at all levels.
- Working knowledge of Pressure Systems Safety Laws (PSSR) and BS EN378.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
- High level of competence in all Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Project.
