About the Role

As a Casual Bar Waiter/Waitress at Sofitel London St James, you will deliver exceptional food and beverage service across the hotel’s award-winning outlets, including the St James Bar. You will ensure a consistently high level of guest experience, upholding Sofitel’s standards of luxury, elegance, and personalised service.

Responsibilities

Ensure the smooth and efficient running of your area and promote a service of excellence to guests.
Recognize customer needs and comfort, focusing on customer relations and satisfaction with attentiveness and professionalism.
Attend all pre-service briefings.
Understand and possess thorough knowledge of all menus and food and beverage products.
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, furnishings presentation, and bar set-up; report necessary repairs.
Be flexible and carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities, including redeployment to alternative departments as required.
Ensure all guest checks are correctly posted on Micros, manage cashiering, and be responsible for stock, including stock controls and price updates.
Perform all duties correctly, efficiently, and to the best of your ability in accordance with Standard Operating Manuals.
Arrive punctually for each shift, properly dressed in uniform, and maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene.
Attend training and departmental meetings as required and share relevant information with colleagues.
Have a thorough understanding of and adhere to laws and regulations regarding licensing, food safety, health & safety & fire regulations.

Requirements

Previous experience in a bar or luxury hospitality environment.
Strong knowledge of food, cocktails, wines, and spirits.
Excellent customer service with a polished, professional manner.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard service setting.
Impeccable presentation and attention to cleanliness.
Knowledge of licensing laws, food safety, and POS/cash handling.
