About the Role

As our Business Development Director/Pursuits Leader, you'll lead EY’s most strategic, complex and commercially significant pursuits across Audit and Assurance. You'll be responsible for developing and executing winning pursuit strategies, mobilising multidisciplinary teams, shaping commercial solutions and positioning EY’s strongest value proposition to clients. This role sits at the centre of high-profile opportunities and requires exceptional leadership, commercial acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across EY and our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and execution of complex strategic pursuits, with a particular focus on major Audit and Assurance opportunities, bringing together client insights, competitive positioning and commercial strategy to drive winning outcomes.
  • Coach and mobilise high-performing pursuit teams, ensuring resources, capabilities and expertise are aligned to maximise the opportunity to win.
  • Engage with senior EY leadership and client stakeholders to shape solutions, negotiate commercial outcomes and drive pursuit momentum from opportunity identification through to contract close.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading large, strategic and commercially complex pursuits within professional services, consulting, Audit and Assurance, business transformation, strategic sourcing or similarly complex B2B environments, with the ability to apply this experience to major audit pursuits and competitive tender processes.
  • Strong commercial acumen across pursuit strategy, deal economics, pricing, negotiation and value proposition development.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and decision-makers, clients and pursuit teams in complex environments.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams through end-to-end pursuit lifecycles, from qualification and solution development through to contract close, ideally involving significant, highly competitive or strategically important client opportunities.
  • Outstanding communication, coaching and leadership capabilities with the ability to build momentum and alignment across diverse teams.
  • Experience participating in multi-geography pursuits involving onshore, nearshore and offshore delivery models.
  • Exposure to Audit and Assurance pursuits would be highly regarded, particularly large or complex audit opportunities, but is not essential.
  • We also welcome candidates with highly transferable pursuit experience from consulting, managed services, strategic business transformation, IT transformation, strategic sourcing or other complex commercial environments.
  • A track record of developing innovative pursuit strategies that differentiate solutions, respond to complex client requirements and deliver value for clients and EY.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing pursuit professionals and broader deal teams.
