About the Role
This role is for a Law Clerk in the Workers Compensation practice, supporting solicitors and gaining exposure to various workers compensation matters. It's an opportunity for a law student to gain hands-on legal experience within Australia's largest specialist personal injury law firm.
Responsibilities
- Assisting solicitors with the management of workers compensation files
- Drafting correspondence and legal documentation
- Reviewing client files and obtaining information and instructions from clients
- Arranging medical appointments and managing client diaries
- Assisting with drafting client statements
- Preparing applications and documentation for the Personal Injury Commission
- Assisting with medical dispute submissions and correspondence
- Preparing letters of instruction to medical practitioners
- Liaising with clients, medical providers and other relevant parties
- General file management and administrative support
Requirements
- Availability to work 5 days per week
- A genuine interest in personal injury law, particularly workers compensation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Confidence communicating with clients in a professional and empathetic manner
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Enthusiastic, reliable and committed to developing legal skills
