About the Role
Voodoo Doughnut is expanding and hiring Shift Supervisors for their first New York City location. This role is crucial for the grand opening team, ensuring a positive and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Act with integrity, honesty, and passion to promote a positive work environment.
- Create meaningful connections with guests and respond with a guest-focused attitude.
- Monitor shift service expectations and lobby appearance.
- Develop positive relationships with team members and understand their motivation, needs, and concerns.
- Foster a positive learning environment through coaching and feedback.
- Assist and support team member training.
- Maintain an energetic, inviting, and safe atmosphere during shift.
- Direct team members to workstations to ease operational flow and ensure cleanliness.
- Communicate production numbers and collaborate with management to meet sales and labor targets.
- Support shop product ordering and inventory needs.
- Follow standard operating procedures including cash handling, incident reporting, health inspections, and safety.
- Communicate safety and equipment needs to management.
- Execute shop opening, midday, and closing protocols.
- Provide team member breaks and rest periods according to state regulations.
- Maintain a calm presence during peak volume or unannounced events.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays.
- Ability to work various shifts.
- Possess a current food handler's card or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Basic math and kitchen/cooking skills.
- Ability to work as a team and build lasting relationships.
- Demonstrate a superior work ethic.
- Reliable transportation.
- Prior experience in food service, bakery production, or customer service.
- Ability to handle cooked or raw bacon and allergens.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements such as walking, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
- Ability to stand for the duration of a shift.
- Sustained physical endurance and speed.
- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Ability to work with chemicals used in cleaning and sanitizing.
