About the Role
Senior Underwriters provide complete solutions for commercial mid-market businesses on the Healthcare, Education & Social Services & Senior Care team. They collaborate with broker partners to assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions, while building strong relationships and utilizing technical skills for proper risk assessment. This role involves working with both programs and stand-alone mid-market risks, and providing coaching and mentorship to less experienced underwriters.
Responsibilities
- Provide complete solutions for commercial mid-market businesses.
- Work closely with broker partners to understand risk.
- Make underwriting decisions.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess risks properly using technical skills.
- Work closely with programs and stand-alone mid-market risks.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and development for less experienced underwriters.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Underwriting experience in Property/Casualty & MedMal.
- Commercial Auto underwriting experience is an asset.
- Completed, or pursuing CIP designation.
- Strong customer service background.
- Team-first mentality.
