About the Role

We are seeking a Producer to lead Masters of Movies, a new cinematic interview series featuring conversations with influential figures in filmmaking. This role involves managing productions from concept to delivery, ensuring creative vision, and audience growth.

Responsibilities

  • Take productions from concept to delivery.
  • Find solutions, open doors, and push through challenges.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing budgets, schedules, crews, and priorities.
  • Find, hire, and manage talented freelancers, production partners, and vendors.
  • Own budgets, negotiate rates, and deliver ambitious work with limited resources.
  • Secure difficult locations, navigate tight timelines, and handle last-minute changes.
  • Run efficient, professional shoots, keeping crews aligned and guests comfortable.
  • Work with directors and cinematographers to determine feasibility and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate guests and negotiate their appearances, leveraging film release cycles and relationships.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team from shoot through delivery.
  • Own marketing and distribution, including launch plans, promotional content, and audience growth.
  • Prepare the host with guest research and necessary materials.
  • Serve as the official liaison between the show and the Hollywood/entertainment community.
  • Deliver three excellent episodes within the first six months.
  • Establish a repeatable production playbook covering booking, travel, set build, shoot, edit, and release.
  • Develop a guest pipeline beyond the initial episodes.

Requirements

  • Significant experience producing or showrunning talent-driven shows, documentaries, commercials, or other high-end video productions, ideally with minimal staff.
  • Experience with both large-budget and lean, independent productions.
  • Exceptional resourcefulness in finding alternative solutions.
  • Proactive and decisive approach to production management.
  • Ability to juggle multiple productions at different stages without losing details.
  • Strong negotiation skills to maximize budgets while maintaining relationships and quality.
  • Extensive network within the film industry, including agents, publicists, and crew/vendors.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and take ownership of issues.
  • Experience owning marketing and building an audience for a show.
  • Relentless production instinct, pursuing solutions beyond the first obstacle.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work with limited resources and small crews.
  • Creative instincts and pride in the final product.
  • Anticipate problems and take ownership without needing constant follow-up.
  • Ability to improve the performance of those around you.
