About the Role
As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will leverage consulting experience and spec-driven development skills to lead AI engagements within financial services clients. You will understand commercial constructs, enterprise challenges, and regulatory rigor to drive AI adoption across complex and highly regulated enterprises.
Responsibilities
- Advise C-level stakeholders within large financial services corporate clients on AI and lead consulting engagements.
- Build, tune, and evaluate agents, including coding in Python, C++, C#.net, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Operate within an AI governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) framework in a regulated setting.
- Define and track delivery value through metrics.
- Build and maintain a versioned shared library of skills, rules, prompts, spec templates, checks, and patterns.
- Utilize AI-assisted engineering and spec-driven workflows, including pull-request for reviews, merges, and orchestration.
- Coach client staff on AI usage, considering risk, compliance, cost, architecture, engineering, delivery, change, and operations.
- Present complex situations to senior stakeholders, leading engineering approaches, trade-off assessments, and risk discussions.
- Understand key regulatory obligations in banking or insurance.
- Work with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
- Utilize tooling such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, VS Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the InnerSource model and approach for CI management of AI components.
- Knowledge of control frameworks and model-risk/AI-risk expectations in Australian financial services (e.g. APRA prudential standards such as CPS 230 and CPS 234).
- Experience designing AI Platforms and Control planes.
- Experience with LLMOps and observability: tracing, cost and latency monitoring, prompt/version control, and agent audit trails.
- Prior forward deployed experience being embedded within a client to lead outcomes.
- Generated more than 500K lines of runnable code through spec-driven development, based on metrics and full test suites.
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and strategic partners to shape solution offerings.
