About the Role
The Olympic Club is seeking a full-time Catering Manager to oversee and manage the functions of the Lakeside Clubhouse Catering department. This role involves booking events, managing client relationships, coordinating with culinary and management teams, and driving new business within the membership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise the Catering operation at the Lakeside Clubhouse, ensuring a seamless experience from sales to event completion.
- Work closely with clients from initial contact through event completion, confirming details and communicating them via banquet event orders.
- Oversee staff during events to ensure service standards, policies, and safety regulations are followed.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on specialized menus and maintain communication with the Catering Assistant for event arrangements.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget and review it monthly to ensure revenue projections are met.
- Generate new business through membership engagement, networking, and social media marketing.
- Prepare detailed BEOs, attend BEO meetings, and ensure clear communication of event details to all departments.
- Manage vendors and serve as the onsite/day-of event manager.
- Process billing for all events within 48 hours of completion and ensure timely payroll information.
- Achieve and exceed annual performance goals, focusing on repeat and new business development.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local employment laws, safety regulations, and Club policies.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interactions and decisions.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by business needs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance based on business expectations and needs.
- Adhere to all federal, state, local, and San Francisco laws regarding health, safety, and employment.
- Attend management and other requested meetings.
Requirements
- 3 years of Food and Beverage management experience in a luxury/high-end hospitality environment with full-service cycle experience.
- Previous Banquet/Events Management experience.
- Extensive experience selling and/or servicing weddings, corporate events, and meetings.
- Knowledge of San Francisco business trends and competition.
- Solid communication and relationship-building skills with members and coworkers.
- Able and willing to work long hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business requirements and operational needs.
- Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
