About the Role
The Associate Product Manager (APM) role is designed to develop future product leaders. You will join a senior PM's team, own a defined part of a banking product, and ship features to customers within your first quarter. This role offers direct mentorship and aims for you to become a full Product Manager within 18 months, gaining experience in building trusted financial products.
Responsibilities
- Own a feature area end to end, from problem definition to measuring results.
- Collaborate daily with Design and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Write clear specifications for engineers and provide constructive feedback on product flows.
- Engage Compliance and Operations teams early to ensure smooth product launches.
- Gather customer insights through direct conversations, support tickets, and market analysis.
- Define success metrics before development and analyze data to report on product performance.
- Leverage AI tools for prototyping, analysis, and drafting product documentation.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in product, engineering, data, consulting, banking, startups, or customer-facing roles, or entrepreneurial experience.
- Proficiency in SQL, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools with examples of personal projects.
- Ability to clearly articulate complex problems in writing.
- Capacity to receive and act on feedback effectively.
- Proactive ownership and problem-solving skills.
- Technical background or coding experience is a plus.
- Experience working at a bank or fintech company is a plus.
- Startup experience is a plus.
