About the Role
Robert Wright Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking to add an Entry Level Diesel Technician to the team in Glenmont. This role focuses on assisting experienced mechanics with vehicle maintenance and repairs, learning the trade under supervision, and ensuring the safety of our drivers and community service.
Responsibilities
- Assists experienced mechanics with vehicle maintenance and repairs, learning the trade under supervision.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trucks and equipment
- Conduct oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and lubrication
- Assist with brakes inspections, fluid levels, belts, hoses, and other key components
- Identify potential issues and report necessary repairs to the lead mechanic
- Maintain accurate service records and reports
- Keep work areas clean and organized in compliance with safety regulations
- Assist with minor repairs and support the mechanic team as needed
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude, a drive to learn and grow with a team.
- Ability to adapt to a wide variety of environments to complete work assignments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Welding/fabrication experience, a major plus
