This role offers broad exposure across treasury, banking, and energy market operations, with opportunities for continuous improvement and Treasury Management System transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day cash management, monitor daily bank balances and funds availability, coordinate fund transfers, and make recommendations on bank facility drawdowns and short-term investments.
  • Complete bank reconciliations.
  • Partner closely with Accounts Payable, settlements, and finance teams to track upcoming commitments, understand cash flows, and optimise working capital.
  • Monitor daily prudential and credential requirements for participation in the National Electricity Market (NEM) and gas market in line with AEMO requirements, providing timely reporting and risk mitigation recommendations.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly journals, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and produce accurate, timely treasury reporting on cash positions, liquidity metrics, and financial risk strategies for senior leaders.
  • Assist the senior treasury team with quantitative analysis to inform decision-making on interest rate hedging, foreign currency exposure, and commodity risk.
  • Act as an active contributor and change champion during the ongoing transformation and optimisation of the Treasury Management System (Reval), identifying opportunities to enhance automation, reporting, and internal controls.

Requirements

  • Prior exposure to energy or commodities markets is beneficial but not essential.
  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Strong numerical skills, financial modelling capability, and an inquisitive mindset with an eagerness to learn and dive into complex financial data.
  • Solid familiarity with treasury management systems (e.g., Reval) or core ERP/financial systems, combined with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal cross-functional teams and external banking partners.
