About the Role
Oneida Health Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for night shift coverage in the ICU unit. This role is crucial for coordinating patient care and providing specialized nursing services, including supervising LPNs and support staff. The ideal candidate is compassionate, skilled, and works well independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care
- Provide specialized nursing services
- Supervise LPNs and support nursing staff
- Identify patient needs and provide care
- Work as a team player
- Supervise other nursing personnel
- Keep neat records
- Prepare reports in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment for staff and patients
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Exhibit a customer service attitude when interacting with patients and families
- Utilize organizational skills for supplies and equipment
- Remain calm and professional in crisis and emergent situations
Requirements
- Associate of Nursing (Required)
- New York RN License (Required)
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- 1 year of ICU experience (Preferred)
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (45 pounds or over)
- Ability to perform moderate carrying (15-44 pounds)
- Ability to perform pulling and pushing tasks
- Ability to perform reaching above shoulder tasks
- Manual dexterity required
- Ability to work extended periods of walking and standing
- Ability to sit for 2 hours per day
- Ability to perform kneeling tasks
- Ability to perform repeated bending
- Normal vision requirements
- Normal hearing requirements
- Ability to wear an N-95 Respirator Mask
