About the Role
Oneida Health is seeking a per diem Nursing Patient Care Technician for the night shift in our Hospital ICU Department. This role involves assisting the ICU Nursing Team, delivering direct patient care under the direction of RNs, and performing tasks that do not require nursing judgment or medication administration. The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Performing basic patient care under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients according to hospital standards of quality.
- Using a customer service attitude when assisting patients and families with needs.
- Performing ward clerk and clerical tasks as needed.
- Maintaining equipment and performing routine cleaning tasks.
- Assisting RN with patient educational needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
- BLS/CPR (Preferred)
- Nursing Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
Skills
- Careful observation and data gathering.
- Documenting information carefully and accurately.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Routing messages to the appropriate person.
