About the Role

We are seeking a senior, commercially oriented investment specialist to help Janus Henderson scale differentiated solutions at the intersection of alternatives, income, ETFs, and portfolio innovation. This role is designed for a top-decile candidate who can operate across private markets, public market implementation, and advisor-facing portfolio construction — translating complex investment capabilities into practical, high-conviction client conversations. This is a strategic growth role for someone who can connect investment insight, commercial judgment, client education, and innovation — helping shape how we bring alternatives, income, and ETF-based solutions to market.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert across alternatives, private markets, income solutions, and non-traditional ETF strategies
  • Lead client and advisor conversations on portfolio construction, alternative allocations, income generation, diversification, liquidity, access, and implementation
  • Partner with sales, national accounts, model portfolio teams, product, portfolio management, ETF capital markets, and marketing to accelerate commercial adoption
  • Help shape positioning for private credit, asset-backed finance, securitized credit, real assets, derivative income, structured outcomes, and hybrid public/private portfolio solutions
  • Translate complex investment capabilities into clear, practical narratives for advisors, home offices and platforms
  • Develop high-quality thought leadership, client presentations, training materials, playbooks, and market commentary that support differentiated positioning
  • Identify growth opportunities across client types, including RIAs/RIA Aggregators, ETF model firms, family offices.
  • Provide field intelligence on advisor demand, competitive positioning, implementation barriers, product gaps, and emerging market opportunities
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives involving ETFs, models, alternative access structures, income-oriented solutions, and next-generation portfolio delivery
  • Act as a connective force across investment teams and distribution, ensuring that our strongest capabilities are translated into scalable client outcomes
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in asset management, alternatives, ETFs, portfolio construction, wealth management, or institutional distribution
  • Demonstrated credibility in client-facing investment specialist, strategist, consultant, portfolio construction, or product strategy roles
  • Strong working knowledge of ETFs, active management, private markets, alternative investments, income strategies, and multi-asset implementation
  • Ability to discuss portfolio construction across public equities, fixed income, alternatives, private markets, and income-oriented strategies
  • Proven ability to simplify complex investment concepts for sophisticated advisor, platform, consultant, and institutional audiences
  • Strong commercial instincts, executive presence, presentation skills, and ability to influence across internal and external stakeholders
  • Track record of partnering effectively with sales, product, portfolio management, marketing, and leadership teams to drive business outcomes
  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • Willing to adhere to the provisions of our Investment Advisory Code of Ethics related to personal securities activities and other disclosure and certification requirements, including past political contributions and political activities.
  • Applicants’ past political contributions or activity may impact applicants’ eligibility for this position.
  • Expected to understand the regulatory obligations of the firm, and abide by the regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable for your role.
