About the Role
Lead daily transportation operations, develop a high-performing team of drivers, and drive efficiency across routing, dispatching, and delivery operations at Ferraro Foods.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transportation operations, including dispatching, routing, and delivery coordination for Class A and Class B drivers
- Monitor delivery schedules, troubleshoot service issues, and ensure timely communication with drivers and customers
- Manage driver callouts, scheduling changes, and delivery coverage to minimize operational disruptions
- Review and optimize delivery routes to improve efficiency, productivity, and truck utilization
- Oversee routing activities and ensure accurate route information and truck maximization within RoadNet
- Lead, coach, train, and develop drivers and helpers to improve performance, safety, and accountability
- Address attendance, performance, and policy concerns, including corrective action when necessary
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, federal and state transportation laws, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies
- Report driver accidents, incidents, and workplace injuries to Safety and Human Resources
- Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Safety, and Operations to resolve delivery challenges and maintain service standards
- Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes, operational efficiency, and overall department performance
Requirements
- Active Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- 5+ years of experience in foodservice delivery or transportation operations
- Previous transportation supervisory or management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dispatching, routing, and delivery operations
- Understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements
- Strong leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of RoadNet or similar routing software preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent work-related experience preferred
