About the Role
Bensonhurst Veterinary Care (BVC) is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to provide exceptional customer service and best-in-class care to patients. This role involves a variety of medical and nursing tasks, with opportunities for training and career development.
Responsibilities
- Pet restraint
- Triage incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Anesthetic management
- Withstand unpleasant odors and noises
- Handle potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience preferred
- Must be able to properly restrain pets
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance knowledge and skillset
- Hiring eligibility may be contingent to a candidate authorizing and completing a satisfactory pre-employment screening
