About the Role
Major Food Group is seeking an experienced Pastry Cook for Torrisi, a fine dining Italian-American restaurant located in the Puck Building.
Responsibilities
- Follow recipes for all food items associated with the pastry department.
- Maintain a neat and organized work environment.
- Prioritize the production schedule to meet pars in a timely manner.
- Practice safe food handling in accordance with NY state regulations.
- Ensure proper rotation of product.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Communicate any complications with facilities, including kitchen equipment.
- Follow a weekly schedule with minimal absences.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of pastry experience in a fine dining establishment.
- Solution-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Able to accept constructive criticism.
- Able to understand or speak English.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work standing for extended periods.
- Collaborates well with team members to accomplish tasks and meet standards.
