About the Role
Blackbird is hiring a part-time Field Operations associate for its NYC market. This role involves being the face of Blackbird on the ground, installing hardware in partner restaurants, training staff, and ensuring partners remain operational. The position is ideal for individuals with a background in restaurants, hospitality tech, or restaurant vendor operations.
Responsibilities
- Run on-site installs and onboarding for new and existing restaurant partners
- Set up Blackbird hardware and software to fit each restaurant's layout and workflow
- Visit partners whose devices have gone offline, diagnose issues, and resolve them
- Train and retrain front-of-house staff and managers on how to use Blackbird effectively
- Fix problems in real time and share learnings with sales and product teams
- Set up new restaurants in Blackbird's admin tool
Requirements
- Experience in or around restaurants (operators, tech vendors, POS providers, etc.)
- Comfort with technology; ability to learn new systems quickly and troubleshoot hardware/software on site
- Organized, hands-on, and willing to perform necessary tasks
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with owners, managers, and staff
- Flexible availability, including some early mornings, evenings around service, and occasional weekends
- Based in NYC with reliable transportation across all five boroughs
