About the Role

Invent how people and AI work together. In this role, you will design and build the interaction patterns that help people understand, direct, and confidently collaborate with capable AI systems. You will shape experiences that make AI behavior transparent, controllable, and useful in real-world work.

Responsibilities

  • Define experience principles, interaction architecture, and reusable patterns for AI-assisted and agentic products.
  • Conduct workflow research and usability testing with diverse users, including people who use assistive technologies.
  • Build high-fidelity prototypes and accessible production components for the product’s web, application, conversational, or multimodal surfaces.
  • Translate user intent into interaction specifications for clarification, uncertainty, memory, personalization, permissions, and action boundaries.
  • Make plans, progress, evidence, tool activity, costs, and outcomes legible without overwhelming users.
  • Design controls for preview, approval, interruption, edit, undo, retry, escalation, and human takeover.
  • Measure task completion, effort, correction burden, recovery, and trust calibration; partner with AI, platform, security, and evaluation specialists to improve the whole experience.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study
  • A portfolio of shipped interaction design, design engineering, frontend engineering, or HCI work showing both thinking and implementation.
  • Production proficiency in modern web or application technologies, delivering responsive, performant components.
  • Experience designing for AI, search, recommendation, automation, or another adaptive system.
  • Practical command of semantic UI, WCAG, WAI-ARIA, keyboard interaction, and assistive-technology testing.
  • Experience extending reusable component libraries and supporting adoption across product teams.
  • This role requires up to 50% travel and flexibility to go into the office in a hybrid capacity.

Skills

  • Strong human-AI interaction judgment across complex, asynchronous workflows, balancing usability, transparency, and human control.
  • Information design skills that communicate uncertainty, sources, permissions, and system state clearly.
  • Ability to carry design intent into production under realistic latency, streaming, and model variability.
  • Research judgment combining qualitative insight, behavioral data, and experiments to guide product decisions.
  • Collaborative communication across design, engineering, product, and control specialists.
  • Experience with agentic interfaces, long-running tasks, or human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Experience building streaming, real-time, or multimodal interactions across devices or languages.
  • Contributions to inclusive research, cognitive accessibility, open-source design systems, or human-AI interaction practice.
