About the Role
Goldfish Swim School is seeking year-round, part-time instructors with opportunities for advancement within the first 3-6 months. This role is ideal for individuals seeking an after-school or second job to support their future career goals.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
- Communicate student progress and celebrate accomplishments with parents and caregivers after each lesson.
- Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
- Evaluate students’ progress and complete required paperwork.
- Interact with parents/guardians on student activities and development.
- Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve student challenges.
- Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment.
- Place and remove lane lines and class materials before/after lessons.
- Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, and trash removal.
- Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training.
- Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work with children.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class as part of training.
- Ability to work scheduled shifts as a lifeguard.
- Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool (lifting, standing for extended periods, demonstrating curriculum skills, and performing in-water rescues if necessary).
