About the Role
Throne is seeking full-time Battery Technicians to perform routine and emergency battery swaps across our fleet of self-contained restroom units in New York City. This role involves driving a box truck, operating equipment, and maintaining accurate work records. The position offers overnight shifts with weekend rotations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency battery swaps across the fleet of self-contained restroom units.
- Pick up charged batteries from the charging facility in New Jersey.
- Drive a box truck safely from the charging facility to Throne locations to perform battery swaps.
- Operate an electric pallet jack and lift gate to load and unload batteries.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including documentation of repairs, replacements, and inspections.
- Return depleted batteries to the charging facility and ensure they are connected and charging safely.
- Use a smartphone to navigate to sites, communicate with coworkers, and record work performed.
- Clean restroom units, remove trash, and restock supplies as needed.
- Alert the technical team to any observed issues or needed repairs.
- Maintain fleet vehicles by keeping them clean and organized, flagging needed repairs for management.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in driving or delivery.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Demonstrated ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to escalate issues as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work overnight and on weekends.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Can-do attitude and passion for Throne’s mission.
- Employment may be contingent upon Throne's receipt of an acceptable and job-related driver screening, motor vehicle report, and/or background check.
