About the Role
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in a safety-focused environment. This role offers opportunities to work on various equipment, develop new skills, and advance in a growing company.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Perform diagnostics on equipment.
- Make repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
- Work on a variety of makes, models & equipment in challenging remote locations.
- Develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
- 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- May require CDL license in some locations.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
Skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
